Al Noor Mosque

Al Noor Mosque

The Al Noor Mosque is one of the very few mosques that are open to the public in Sharjah. Situated at the Khaled lagoon at the Buhaira Corniche, the architecture of the mosque is inspired from the Turkish Ottoman designs. The mosque was built by her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed al Qassimi, the wife of the ruler of Sharjah, and is regarded as the most famous places of worship in the country.

Eye of the Emirates

A visit to Sharjah is incomplete without a ride on the 'Eye of the Emirates”. This giant Ferris wheel offers an aerial view of Sharjah Corniche, lagoons and landscape, extending its horizons to neighbouring Dubai. It has 42 air-conditioned cabins that go 60 meters high over Sharjah and is capable of carrying 336 passengers at a single instance.

Sharjah Cricket Stadium

The Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium was originally constructed in 1980 and further renovated in 2002. The Sharjah ground has been the venue for nearly 200 One Day International cricket matches and is the home ground for the Afghanistan cricket team for One Day International and First-Class matches. This ground is very popular with the South Asian community of the United Arab Emirates.

Khor Fakkan

The town of Khor Fakkan (KhorFakkan) lies on the quaint Khorfakkan bay and is surrounded by the emirate of Fujairah. The Khor Fakkan has a spot called Shark Island, which is a paradise for divers and swimmers. Other visit-worthy places include the Rifaisa Dam, souks, the Al Wurrayah Falls and Jabal Javi a popular hiking spot, along with the 4-star Oceanic Hotel.
